The design shall be in greyscale or monochrome and should be submitted in electronic form at a resolution of 2000 x 2000 pixels (see format information below). Entrants should also take into consideration that the final projected image may be rotated in either direction. To enter the competition, simply send your design with your contact details to Resolution X. Entries should be submitted in PC format as a Photoshop, EPS, JPEG, TIFF or other bitmap file, and should not exceed 4MB in size. Artwork created in vector formats by such applications Illustrator, Freehand and Corel Draw should not be converted to a bitmap format, but PDF previews of the images should provided for judging purposes. Care should be taken when using file formats such as JPEG that use lossy compression techniques to reduce file size. Applying too much compression can severely reduce the quality of the image and render it unsuitable for gobo production. A 1.5 to 2MB JPEG file will generally be acceptable for a 2000 x 2000 pixel gobo. You may send the design on a CD to Resolution X (see contacts page for the mailing address), or email them to gobocomp@resolutionx.com.au All entries must be received at Resolution X by 12 noon on 20th September 2004. The competition will be judged by a panel of Resolution X staff on 21st September 2004 and the winning designer will be notified in writing on 22nd September. |
